A Wonderful Woman Named Dorothy
I received a call from a 95 year old woman named Dorothy that crotchets lap blankets and wanted to donate them. She was very happy to know that they would go to cancer patients. When I arrived at her retirement home I was very surprised when I met her. She is a very loving and caring woman and I thought she was a lot younger than 95 years old. Her niece sends her yarn from out of State and she told me she crotchets every day to keep her fingers moving. I took the blankets home and washed them and took them to hospital to bring them to the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center in Boulder. Before I could take them a 94 year old woman came in with terminal cancer and I let her pick out a blanket and she was happy even for a moment. That is what this is all about making a cancer patient feel comforted. Without volunteers like Dorothy this would not be possible.

I live in PA & this is my Aunt. She is a wonderful person & I am proud to call her family. I miss her so much, don't get to see her often.
This wonderful lady is my grandmother! God has blessed her with the spirit to always help those in need I've been lucky to have her in my life!
My grandmother Dorothy Shindledecker will be 98 in May this year and is still crocheting her blankets and hats!
