A Wonderful Woman Named Dorothy

I received a call from a 95 year old woman named Dorothy that crotchets lap blankets and wanted to donate them. She was very happy to know that they would go to cancer patients.  When I arrived at her retirement home I was very surprised when I met her. She is a very loving and caring woman and I thought she was a lot younger than 95 years old.  Her niece sends her yarn from out of State and she told me she crotchets every day to keep her fingers moving.  I took the blankets home and washed them and took them to hospital to bring them to the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center in Boulder.  Before I could take them a 94 year old woman came in with  terminal cancer and I let her pick out a blanket and she was happy even for a moment.  That is what this is all about making a cancer patient feel comforted.  Without volunteers like Dorothy this would not be possible.

Much Love, Missy
